Corrections Policy | SnugGym
Our Commitment to Accuracy
SnugGym publishes research-backed analysis built on manufacturer specifications and aggregated user feedback. Despite our multi-source verification process, errors can occur. When they do, we correct them promptly and transparently.
This policy explains how to report errors, how we handle corrections, and what you can expect from the process.
How to Report an Error
If you find a factual error, outdated specification, broken link, or incorrect calculation on any SnugGym page, we want to know about it.
Reporting Channels
| Method | Address | Response Time |
|---|---|---|
| Email (preferred) | corrections@snuggym.com | Within 48 hours |
| Contact page | /trust-contact/ | Within 48 hours |
What to Include
An effective error report should include:
- The page URL where the error appears
- The specific error — quote the incorrect text if possible
- The correct information — with a source or reference if available
- Your contact email (optional) — for follow-up questions about the correction
Example of a Good Error Report
Page: https://snuggym.com/compact-strength/bowflex-selecttech-552-review/
Error: “The Bowflex SelectTech 552 has a 1-year warranty.”
Correction: The warranty is 2 years parts, as listed on the Bowflex website (https://www.bowflex.com/selecttech-dumbbells/100131.html) and confirmed in the product manual I received with my purchase.
My email: reader@example.com
Correction Process
When we receive an error report, we follow this verified process:
Step 1: Acknowledgment (Within 48 Hours)
We confirm receipt of the report and provide an estimated timeline for investigation. If the report lacks sufficient detail, we request clarification.
Step 2: Verification (Within 1 Week)
Our editorial team checks the reported error against:
- Primary sources — Manufacturer documentation, product manuals, official specifications
- Secondary sources — Independent tests, certified measurements, retailer data sheets
- Tertiary sources — Aggregated user feedback (used cautiously for verification)
If the primary source confirms the report, the error is verified. If sources conflict, we use the higher-tier source (Tier 1 over Tier 2, Tier 2 over Tier 3) and note the conflict.
Step 3: Correction (Within 48 Hours of Verification)
Verified errors are corrected in the published content. The correction includes:
- The factual correction in the body of the article
- A visible correction note at the top of the affected section (for significant corrections)
- An update to the page’s
date_modifiedfield
Step 4: Notification
We notify the reporter of the correction outcome (if contact information was provided). We do not add reporters to any mailing list.
Timeline Summary
| Stage | Timeline |
|---|---|
| Acknowledgment | Within 48 hours |
| Verification | Within 1 week |
| Correction | Within 48 hours of verification |
| Total (typical) | 1-2 weeks |
Visible Correction Notes
When we make a significant correction to published content, we add a visible correction note at the top of the affected page or section:
Correction (2026-06-18): The original version of this page incorrectly stated the Bowflex SelectTech 552 warranty as 1 year. The correct warranty period is 2 years as confirmed by the manufacturer.
Corrections That Receive Visible Notes
- Factual errors — Incorrect specifications, prices, dates, dimensions, weights
- Calculation errors — Incorrect percentage comparisons, ratio calculations, score computations
- Broken or incorrect links — Links pointing to wrong products or non-functional URLs
- Significant omissions — Information that meaningfully changes product evaluation
Corrections Without Visible Notes
- Typographical errors — Spelling, grammar, punctuation
- Formatting changes — Layout adjustments, style consistency
- Minor wording clarifications — Changes that do not alter factual meaning
- Broken external links replacement — Updating a link to the same content at a new URL
Update vs. Correction
We distinguish between corrections (fixing errors) and updates (refreshing content with new information):
| Correction | Update | |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Fix something that was factually wrong | Add new information that did not exist before |
| Example | Wrong weight capacity listed | New product model released |
| Visible note | Yes — correction note added | No — update date changed instead |
| Trigger | Reader report or internal review | Scheduled review cycle or market change |
Correction Log
Significant corrections made to SnugGym content are logged below. This log is updated as corrections are published.
| Date | Page | Correction | Reporter |
|---|---|---|---|
| No corrections logged yet. |
This section is updated within 48 hours of each significant correction being published.
Error Prevention
We minimize errors through multiple quality control layers:
Two-Source Verification
All numerical specifications are verified against at least two independent sources before publication. If sources conflict, we cite the higher-tier source and note the discrepancy.
Evidence Registers
Every factual claim in our content is mapped to a documented source in our internal Evidence Register before publication. This creates an audit trail for every specification, price, and performance claim.
Calculation Checks
All derived metrics — percentages, ratios, fold ratios, cost-per-pound calculations — are independently recalculated by a second team member before publication.
Scheduled Reviews
Content is refreshed at defined intervals (60 days for roundups, 90 days for reviews, 120 days for guides) to catch outdated information before it becomes a significant error source.
Your Rights as a Reader
You have the right to:
- Report errors without providing personal information
- Receive acknowledgment of your report within 48 hours
- Be informed of the correction outcome (if you provided contact information)
- Have your report considered regardless of whether you are a product owner, manufacturer representative, or casual reader
We treat all error reports with equal seriousness, regardless of source.
